An Introduction to Biblical Hebrew

Why learn Biblical Hebrew?

The ancient and living scriptures of Judaism which we have recorded for us in the Tanach [The Hebrew Bible] were written in Hebrew. It is from these scriptures that we have the various translations of the bible, including the Septuagint [LXX].

Any serious study of the bible, then, must be informed by its root language—Hebrew.

For Jews, the Hebrew Tanach has always been a rich source of inspiration and revelation. Now, many more Christians are reading and studying the Tanach in its original language and engaging with the texts using both Jewish and Christian perspectives.

Etz Hayim—"Tree of Life" invites you to enter into the Hebrew scriptures through the medium of the Hebrew words that preserve and impart it to us.

An Introduction to Biblical Hebrew will set you upon a path of exegetical discovery ...Enjoy the journey and the learning.
